Singapore Crime Situation 2010



Despite the additional challenges posed by the opening of the two Integrated Resorts and the vibrant economic activities, Overall Crime reported has fallen by 0.6% in 2010 as compared to 2009.

Three of the six crime classes1 have registered decreases in 2010 as compared to the year 2009. Various areas of concern highlighted in previous years, namely unlicensed moneylending (UML) and harassment, petty theft, crimes against elderly persons and statutory rape have recorded significant decreases.

As the first month of the new 2011 had just passed , Singapore should continuous to strive hard to prevent more crime from happening in the further year ahead.
